  • The Forum is owed an apology as I have no actual evidence for my claim that Pius XII knew Sr Lucy personally.

OTOH I cannot imagine that she was not received in Rome at some point by the Pope or for that matter Pius XI also.

There would have to be docuмentation of this.   :reporter:

I admire you all the more for admitting to this fact.

  • Thanks but no thanks. I don't see how it could it be possible that Sr Lucy never met with Pius XI or XII( or for that matter Cardinal Pacelli).  :confused1:

  • If you are well informed then there's no need for the article :). I'm sorry I don't know enough, but I would imagine that it wouldn't of been customary at the time. I have never came across any evidence suggesting that it took place.

  • What 'custom' could prevent the Pope from meeting with a Nun?

This topic is seeking to establish whether the real Sr Lucy ever met with Pius XII or even Pius XI. Pls start another topic if you would like to discuss the 2 Sr Lucys.

I have read many books on Fatima, and I have read extensively about Pope Pius XII.  In all of my reading, I have never come across anything that even hinted at a meeting between Pius XII and Sr. Lucy.

You would think such a meeting would have had some publicity to it, as everything a Pope does is well docuмented and his travels are covered extensively by the press, both ecclesiastical and secular.

If you wish to argue that he visited her while still a Cardinal, that may have been possible, but I doubt it, as this fact would most likely have surfaced by now.

With the exception of her time in the convent in Tuy, Spain, she never left Portugal.
