Society and the Sacrament of Penance

I am not sure how to word this, please bear with me.

I was thinking about the Sacrament of Penance.  Has anyone else noticed that none of the protestants have this (I realize this is obvious) and the Novus Ordo has dumbed it way down?  And even in traditional circles the Sacrament can be hard to do frequently.  Have you ever noticed that the families who use the Sacrament more often tend to be happier and more Faithful Catholics.

My thought is that this may be why the world is so socially inept right now.  There are no checks and balances on our vices.

For reference

Thoughts?
