  • I read in Cure of Ars by St John Vianney that we are not to have our children sleep with us after 2 yrs of age, that it's a sin. Did you know about this? If so is there a specific reason as to why the Church teaches this, the book didn't go into detail as to the why.

That was a sermon given to a specific group of people not as a law of the Church. We do not know the context in which that advice was given. He wasn't a doctor, theologian or a moralist, though he was a holy man. Unless you are seeing such appear in multiple moral theology texts, there is not reason to assume this is the teaching of the Church on the morality of the subject.

fair enough,  his words were it's a sin for parents to sleep with their children over 2 yrs of age, don't think it applies to a specific group of people but to all

  • I heard the Church at one time taught no husband wife relations during lactation.
