I read in Cure of Ars by St John Vianney that we are not to have our children sleep with us after 2 yrs of age, that it's a sin. Did you know about this? If so is there a specific reason as to why the Church teaches this, the book didn't go into detail as to the why.

We do not know the context in which that advice was given. He wasn't a doctor, theologian or a moralist, though he was a holy man. Unless you are seeing such appear in multiple moral theology texts, there is not reason to assume this is the teaching of the Church on the morality of the subject.
