I would like to ask these newer members and any others if they are familiar with the alleged controversy surrounding this great man of the Church and what your op on the matter might be.
Worry about what God wants you to do in your daily life, roscoe. God wants you to be
sober, pious, and just in all your thoughts, words, and deeds. If you maintain that you personally can smoke a little grass every now and then and you don't get high and you need it to get through your life in this post-Edenic fallen condition, then do it. Just don't get on a public Internet forum advising some young girl who comes to us for help in cleaning up her life and telling her it's OK to sit around getting schnockered on pot. You're scandalizing her and all the other young, confused, or inexperienced who might come here seeking a little guidance.
As far as this tedious "green herbs" nonsense from Genesis 9:3, look at the whole passage, roscoe:
And every thing that moveth and liveth shall be meat for you: even as the green herbs have I delivered them all to you:Now, I know you can smoke meat, but after that you have to eat it. You don't put it in a pipe or a bong or roll it up into a reefer.
Verse 4 continues:
Saving that flesh with blood you shall not eat. Again, the emphasis is on "eat." Eat, not light up and inhale.
I don't know if smoking a little bit of pot is mortally or even venially sinful. That's not the point. The point is that it is not part of a good traditional Catholic life to use marijuana. Ask anyone who grew up pre-Vat2 if they thought it was OK to smoke dope. Most of what we do and believe as Trad Caths is based on the respect we have for the values and the lifestyles of our Catholic predecessors. Any of us who come from Catholic families with Catholic roots and Catholic ancestors can tell you that those people really, really, really frowned on things like smoking pot. That was the kind of thing back in the day that you got beaten with a strap or kicked out of the house for. It was the kind of thing dirty, shaggy, counterculture hippies and scandalous Hollywood actors did. Why would you want to imitate hedonistic, befuddled beatniks and immoral show business people instead of our simple, salt-of-the-earth, hard-working ancestors?
As far as these MK-Ultra CIA/KGB/NSA freemasonilluminajudaicommunistic programs go, remember that they can only kill the body, not the soul. Ask your guardian angel and your patron saint to protect you from them and they can't touch you, at least not where it counts.
:soapbox: Climbing down off of it now.
