  • I was looking through my old papers and things that mothers keep of the children, and found the Certificate of Baptism from one of my 6 babies, that are now adults.  This particular child was Baptised in 1963 at St. Finbar Church in Burbank California.  Just for the fun of it, I googled the church, and also googled the priest who Baptised my son.  His name came up and much to my shock the priest is proudly boasting he is married with children today.

  • This is a blast from the past. Father Ara was the assistant pastor of the
Parochial school that I attended in the south bay area of Los Angeles
that opens it's doors in 1956. I was a student there from 1956 to
1962. I remember Fr. Ara was very liberal in his politics and offended the
congregation in his preaching's at Sunday Mass.  Parishioners got
together and requested he be replaced. And was replaced in 1961 with a  Priest Fr. O'Brien ordained in Ireland.
I never knew where Fr. Ara went. I heard he married an ex nun and left the
church. He either started his own church or joined the old Catholic
    sect.

On October 10, 1970 Father Ara added love and marriage to his priesthood. He and his wife, Shirley, have been blessed with five wonderful children.  Martin, Jose, Rana, Dawna and Matthew are all now young adults.

This was happening en masse around Detroit when I was a kid. I remember 1963 when one of the first was a seminarian who was a close friend of the family  to leave the seminary with less than a year to go before his ordination. After that, it seems like every month or so some one else we knew did the same, then within only two or three years, it was like every week or two some priest somewhere was leaving their vocation and getting married - often to ex-nuns or divorced women. It's no wonder my folks and the other "rejects" thought the world was coming to an end.

Your post when read reminds me of this verse in Luke 23;31.  Different people have different insights as to exactly what it means. Yet it always seems to remind me if they can do this at the birth of the Church when it is new to the world, think of  how much worse the world will be, in the end times, when the word of God was preached to all nations.
    Please pray for my soul.

  • As shocking as Fr. Ara's story is the following is just disgusting.

Former Camden Priest Carl Marucci "Marries" Male Partner Andrew Marsenison
For the uninitiated, Carl Marucci, former Msgr. Carl J. Marucci and Vice-Chancellor of the Camden Diocese, N.J., was the ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ protégée of Bishop James T. McHugh of the Camden Diocese and later the Rockville Centre Diocese in N.Y.  For many years, Bishop McHugh was the National “Prolife” Director of the NCCB/USCC Catholic Conference and was responsible for the implementation of classroom sex instruction in Catholic schools.

In 1994, the Rev. Msgr. Marucci was  morphed by McHugh into a staff member of the Office of Permanent Observer for the Vatican at the U.N. Marucci resided at St. Agnes Church in Manhattan
He eventually left the priesthood and settled into an interdenominational church.

  • The priest we had as a principal, who married us in 1973, we found out that he sɛҳuąƖly molested my cousin in 2000.  It happened 40 years ago, in the early 70's.  Very disgusting.  My cousin did not report like others did, and I understand he is an alcoholic.  Very sad, and many prayers.

  • My husband's cousin, went to be a nun. Got all kinds of education, came out a RN but did not take her last vow.  Then she married a man, who did not take his ordination/priest and married her.  They had one child.  She, my husband's cousin went around the world teaching OB/GYN and contraceptives/abortion!  She is so proud of all her photo albums.  Very Sad!!  She boasts that their New Order church has 10 stations of the cross, not 4.  Very sad!

  • An utter disaster that she lost the faith to the point of teaching contraception/abortion Songbird. However if she did not take her final vows and he was not ordained priest then they were free to marry. The tragedy is the loss of faith, a despicable life of sin and the abuse of an honorable profession.
