You may be right about cats, I don't know. I do know about the scandals and grudges surrounding SGG, and it's a shame another thread has to be opened about it.

I actually think it's more embarrassing that you can't let go of what appears to be a decades ? long grudge. If SGG bothers you so much STILL, why purposefully check out the weekly bulletins? Move on already glad.

I don't know. I never really wanted pets but gave in to a cat that my kids have and they're really interesting creatures. Wasn't there a saint (was it St. Philip Neri) who allowed some cats to walk around near/on the altar as a distraction because otherwise he'd go into ecstasy during Mass and the Mass would have taken hours? St. Francis was very friendly with a lot of animals. If I were a priest, however, unless I were prone to ecstasy and needed them for that same reason, I wouldn't keep animals around. There's way too much work to be done for souls to spent time dealing with cats. Even if it isn't active work, the time could be better spend praying for souls than cleaning out litter boxes.

I've always had cats, I have 2 right now and they're okay pets, they're not that high-maintenance compared to dogs (which we have 3). But they can be gross. I don't see how ownership of a cat determines how masculine you are. I'm indifferent to both.
