  • Will they ever elect a pope or have perpetual bishops?

    What is the solution?

  • The CMRI cannot elect a pope.  They can only provide for a superior for their own order and ensure a successor bishop for their own order.  I'm not sure what you mean about "perpetual bishops".

The CMRI is not the universal Church.  The CMRI is merely a part of the universal Church.

On the other hand, if the Conciliar sect ever does something that even the neo-SSPX cannot accept (I think it would have to be the consecration of women bishops, though they may even accept that if the progression of women's ordination is slow enough from deaconess to priestess to bishop) and the SSPX declares the Holy See vacant, I think they could organize the remaining traditional bishops throughout the world and elect a true pope.

I am convinced that there will be a Catholic pope one day but I am less and less optimistic every day that it will come through the Conciliar structures.

  • TKGS is so very correct, CMRI, is only a part of the true Church.  When the shepherd has been struck the sheep will scatter.

We must understand that True Catholics, those of us who are keeping the Faith are scattered.  Therefore how can a true pope be elected if throughout the entire world. the different Traditional groups can not come to terms with each other and elect a true pope.

If we ever have a true pope it will have to be from a supernatural source.

The important thing we can do is have charity for each other, and pray for our loved ones, who are so wrapped up into the world, they don't care about this crisis within the Church, and many even believe the heresy of Modernism and cult of worship of man are good for the world.  We really need to pray for them.

I was able to slip away yesterday, and attend the conference at CMRI, Mount St. Michael.  It so happened my adult granddaughter who has some medical knowledge attended my elderly mother, who I care for, so I can attend a small part of the conference.  I was so impressed by so many there, I even met our Raoul and others who post here attending the conference.

I thank God everyday for Mount St. Michael and when the day comes for God to intervene, I feel sure CMRI will have a very important part in a future true pope.  Because of their charity toward all traditional Catholics, we laity hear from them when they speak to us.

This is a possibility, but we should remember that the Great Western Schism was not solved by a supernatural source.  Frankly, I think it is more possible that the Conciliar sect will collapse of its own doing and, sometime after the traditional bishops of the world have already restored a pope (and it may be a few years after) the Conciliar sect will finally call upon the true pope to restore order in the Vatican.

I see a great deal of pain and suffering in all this and the restoration of the Church taking many years.

  • If I could do it now, I would go to the USA and train as a priest with the CMRI, and then come back to my own country and evangelize.

  • I think when people make the statement "Why doesnt CMRI choose its own Pope"

it conclusively demonstrates that they simply do not understand what CMRI is all about.

First CMRI does not pretend to have Eccesiastic Authority over the Universal Church.

CMRI has taken a theological position in order to preserve the faith in the presence of Manifest Heresy.

Archbishop Lefebvre took a stance in response to Manifest Heresyinorder to preserve the Faith.

The stances are different - but neither group claims jusrisdiction over the entire Church

Therefore - how can a universally accepted Pope be elected?

At this time , one cannot.

The current claimant isnt universally accepted or we wouldnt have Traditional Movements nor would we have liberal factions in the Novus Ordo doing all sorts of uncatholic things in the name of the Catholic religion.

    So what is the answer?

The battle isnt merely Physical it is Spiritual.   When the Arians seized control in the time of St Athanasius - things also seemed hopeless.

But Victory already is at hand. Pray the Holy Rosary - Join your local lay confraternity - live a Catholic Life of good example - frequent the Sacraments - keep from sin offer suffering sacrifice and fastings to Almighty GOD for reparation , petition and thanksgiving  - against these things there is no law.

We know already that in the end HER IMMACULATE HEART WILL TRIUMPH

    Satan is already judged.

So do not let your hearts be troubled. Save your Souls and the Souls of                others by being the best Catholic you can possibly be and in so doing - you are a soldier for Christ and in the thick of the battle.

Do not give up while victory is inevitable.

    Pax Vobis

Have you seen their website 2V? If not, here it is. It tells quite a bit about them.

Not only that, but many people don't understand sedevacantism in general. Some of it is genuine ignorance, but I'm convinced that some of it is willfully malicious.

Bishop Pivarunas said that the CMRI has a priest in Russia.
I didn't ask him what rite he uses, but I would suppose it must
be the Latin rite if he's CMRI, no?

And they are in the process of setting up regular Masses in
the Australia/Philippines region.  I'm not sure where, though.

Neil for someone who is opposed to sedevacantism like yourself, you seem to know more about CMRI than people who attend CMRI.   LOL!

I imagine you expect a response in kind?   To write an obviously malicious and ignorant comment without a single shred of rebuttle not only lacks Catholic Charity but in addition is condescending , prideful and not in the spirit of the mission of the Church , to save souls.

Therefore , I will not comment on what you think of Traditional Catholicism and the various positions Traditional Catholics take ,  because the direction any discussion would take - would not realize that mission.
