    • This is from an email correspondence I had with Matthew in September. I meant to post here a while ago.

    CathInfo is a wealth of disinformation and erroneous, even heretical theology.

    For instance, the most commonly held opinions on CathInfo that are contrary to the Catholic Faith include:

    1) assent only has to be given to extraordinary acts of the Magisterium while we are free to dissent from teachings of the universal ordinary magisterium
    2) we have had heretical Popes in the past
    3) the Church can give to the faithful that which is harmful, evil and heretical.
    4) you may resist legitimate Popes’ commands, teachings and laws and refuse submission to him.
    5) an ecuмenical council assembled, ratified and enforced by a Roman Pontiff can promulgate heresy and be rejected by the faithful

    This is only a handful of opinions widely held on CathInfo that are utterly absurd and foreign to the Catholic religion. These opinions are ‘Econian’ in origin. With Econian theology comes the cognitive gymnastics necessary to recognize a valid Roman Pontiff yet obstinately refuse submission to him. 

    The “Recognize and Resist” movement has done inestimable damage to the faith and piety of so many people. It is not Catholic.

    • Sedevacantism has many problems of its own, i.e no pope and no hierarchy. That amounts to a defection of the Church and a breach of the promise that would have pastors and shepherds for all time.

    • Isn't no pope better than a pope that you ignore with impunity--the very definition of schism?

    In any event, your other comments have been adequately refuted on other topics and really reflects poorly for you.

    • Interesting how when a pole is taken inquiring about your Catholic identity, only a couple sedes come forth.

    But when a new sede thread starts, there are 11 CI members logged in viewing.

    Surely the sedes wouldn’t be laying low in the poll to hide their predominance on this resistance(?) forum, yet miraculously emerging on any thread which could bolster or weaken their cause.

    One would have to be a conspiracy theorist to suspect such a thing!
