Is there any Catholic precedence for the 12-sided star? On first, take, I would compare to a representation to the Star of Bethlehem?
How about the Sagrada family? Does anyone know about their Catholic lineage?
Great questions. I think this is just another example of the devil copying God and using the symbolism of 12 for evil purposes. God has used the number 12 to show completeness, perfection, authority and His power: 12 Apostles, 12 tribes of Israel, the 12 judges of Israel, (in the Apocalypse) Our Lady with a crown of 12 stars.
In our temporal world there are 12 months in a year, 12 hours of day, 12 hours of night, 12 days of Christmas etc. In music, there are 12 major keys and 12 minor keys. In color, there are 12 basic hues - 3 primary colors, 3 secondary and 6 tiertiary.
12 ounces in a pound, 12 grades in school, 12 inches in a foot. The human body has 12 pair of ribs, 12 cranial nerves, and 12 thoracic vertebrae.
