Some people dispute the version released by Melanie in 1879, but I believe it to be legitimate.  I think it's consistent with the Conciliar Church being the whore of Babylon in Revelation.  Some Fathers and saints held that the Antichrist would have a See in Rome (likely due to their reading of Revelation).

Of course these pieces of the prophecy created controversy in the wake of the Vatican I definition.

So obviously any argument based on a quote from the Indexed text is highly problematic.
That the prophecy that Rome will become the seat of the antichrist was put on the Index of Forbidden books is inadvertently validating.

I believe it is axiomatic that the Catholic Church does not put Our Lady's words on the Index of Forbidden Books, but I will refrain from discussing the purported "secret" further so that I do not incur the censure imposed by the Holy Office.

Today, who needs a prophecy to see that Rome has become the seat of Antichrist?

And if one needs one: The Apostle said it in 2 Thess 2. The Antichrist and his body sit as the Church and sell themselves as the true religion of God.

It's debatable whether Melanie's work in 1879 was on the Index.  What was explicitly put on the Index was a pamphlet by Abbe Combe, which incorporated the secret, but then went on to inject his own views on matters.
