How about this comment from the Lifesite article Renowned Catholic philosopher warns Pope Francis is ‘destroying the foundations of faith and morals.’
If I'm not mistaken what's going on with the papacy right now is why C.S. Lewis failed to convert to the Catholic faith. If I'm remembering correctly and in my own words ....The idea that any man, even an unbeliever, could be elected a pope by hook or by crook would somehow be in a position over the Church to whom everyone must submit their obedience is simply preposterous, unless put into proper context.
It seems to me here the real problem is the broad cowardice from the college of Cardinals and the worlds' faithful bishops which have an obligation to correct an errant pope and to protect the office of the papacy and the deposit of faith.
Honestly the moment Jorge Bergoglio from Buenos Aires starting lecturing about "climate justice" and "ecological sins" the worlds faithful bishops and respected serious theologians should have promptly and without mincing words corrected and even called for a prompt resignation.
I have often wondered why the vicar of Christ is chosen by way of a vote. I wonder was there any other way a pope could be made a pope?
