In previous years, publications such as Catholic Family News and The Remnant were watch dogs for tradition. If there was a fox in the hen house, they sounded the alarm. When Bp Riffan of Brazil was in cahoots with Modernist Rome and planning a sell out, they were all over him. They were pointing out his words contradicted tradition, and even how his words contradicted things he himself had said just a year or two earlier. However, they are oddly silent when it comes to Bp Fellay of the SSPX. In the "State of the Union" published a few years ago, Bp Fellay clearly compared Vatican II to a poisoned soup....you can't scoop out the poison, it is too profoundly integrated, you have to throw out the entire pot! Now, he says' 95% of Vatican II is acceptable!
Bp Fellay expels one of Traditions most valiant, well known, and well respected bishops, Bp Williamson and these two publications again are silent....CRAZY!!! Talk about missing a "Scoop". John Vennari did make a brief comment about the SSPX and threw a few salvo's at Bishop Williamson regarding his personal opinions, but had nothing to say about Bp Fellay's blatant contradictions and misrepresentations of ABL. Disappointing indeed!
I'm starting to think that these publications are just another arm of the SSPX, rather than valuable traditional catholic periodicals. I have been greatly disappointed and do not plan on renewing my subscription.
Can someone correct me if I am wrong?
