  • Can anyone link me to some traditional Catholic sites refuting this "speaking in tongues" business, and the satanic lean of the "Charismatic movement?"

Any information in this regard is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

  • Hi, PFT, I don't have a link, but John Vennari did some articles about this years ago.  They may be archived at Catholic Family News.

Then there would be YouTube examples of this activity, and they would probably show how weird this stuff is.

  • Oh I know it's on youtube all over the place. I just wanted something fairly authoritative in writing about it. Lemme check CFN about it. Thanks. :)

This is in the Bible, so you might not have much luck there.

You might have more luck showing that what these guys are doing is NOT speaking in tongues

I think that's what PFT actually meant.

Yep, thanks. I don't bother listening to Stevus, because he reads into things not for what they are, but for what he wants to read into them.

Thanks for this. The person I've been speaking with has been involved with the movement for a long period of time, and is devoted to Padre Pio. I introduced him to Father Villa's writings, and much to his dismay, Cardinal Suenens was a freemason, and was a strong proponent, which caused him to wonder WHY (A very wise thing to ask for someone TRULY seeking the Truth.)

He actually bought John Venarri's book, and is going to read it. Please pray for him.

  • Also see:

    Are you Charismatic or Catholic?

I've only scanned it, but it looks like it might be good.
