    • Dawn and I have been exchanging PM's about this as a defense of Fr Feeney is apparently found in the book. Unfortunatly the author somehow believes the Card Rampolla story.

    I do not understand the need to go into such a graphic description of activity.

    At any rate possibly Dawn could give us a report on the book. I am most interested to know if the book covers the Templars and Boniface or Roy Cohn's relationship with Spelly.

    • Being as the Templar scandal is the most notorious in Church History( present crisis excluded) I would consider it a glaring ommission if  not covered in the book.  My impression from reading the Vennari interview is that Mrs Engel also  recognises the v2 anti-popes.

    TSR Boase has written an interesting history of Boniface and he was the ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ pal of one of the Cambridge spy ring. As much as the author defends Boniface, he is compelled to admit that his trial was probably closer to a hung jury than an acquital. The whole sordid affair had dragged on for so long that a way was found to get it over with.

    • Wow, just saw this. I will try and do a summary.
    This has been a very hectic week in my house.
    I do not know if it is known by many that Spellman was a homo. I will look over the book and pick out some inportant information.
    One thing I will say is that Bernardin of Chicago (remember the guy with the big tent -big rainbow tent that should have been- has his own chapter.
    Spellman and O"Connell as well, due to the fact that they laid the groundwork for what we now see in the Church.

    • I think I'd have to be on an IV drip and have my kids packed up at Grandma's to read it.

    However, from the snippets I have read I will say that Engel is an extremely compassionate soul, and it must have ripped her heart out - - all 12 years of her labor on this book.
