Question to SJB

  • SJB, can you state your theological position for me?   Please don't say "I'm a Catholic"

I have a solid portrait in my head of almost everyone here except you.  For instance I am an anti-una-cuм in all circuмstances, anti-NFP -- at least until someone proves me wrong -- Catholic sedevacantist.  Catholic Martyr is a water-baptism-only Catholic sedevacantist.  Caminus is a pro-Novus-Ordo SSPXer.  ChantCD is SSPX.  Elizabeth is SSPX.  Gladius is a formerly conservative Catholic sedevacantist gone a bit more soft because he has to do the opposite of what Bishop Dolan does, so now he's a CMRI-style sedevacantist ( doesn't go to una cuм but doesn't mind if others do ).  Lover of Truth is a pro-una-cuм sedevacantist.  And so on.

I am guessing your position is that of Gladius, correct?  Meaning the current gladius, as I have an interview moderated by him where he once seemed to tend towards my position ( I'm referring to the one with Patrick Shaw, who I don't know but who struck me as brilliant ).  Do you think it's okay to go to an SSPX mass?
Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

How can anyone "prove you wrong" when, like a total jackass, reject authoritative decisions of the Roman Congregations and Popes?  You're like CM, rather than let the magisterium and sound theologians guide you in this matter, you reject these sources as "co-conspirators."  Do you not see the mind-rot in this perspective?  Try to bring up an authority supporting a doctrine he doesn't like.  He doesn't listen, rather he simply retorts 'heretic' and all be damned no matter what the outcome.  You are clearly kicking against the goad and have added yet another reason why your soul is in peril.  Stop relying on pretended "revelations" and stick with the basics here.

  • Caminus, you're the one rejecting authoritative pronouncements by the popes, and saying that these theologians et al. are the ones we must rely on in order to understand them.

Why didn't you mention the most important issue?

    Women in pants...
It would be comparatively easy for us to be holy if only we could always see the character of our neighbours either in soft shade or with the kindly deceits of moonlight upon them. Of course, we are not to grow blind to evil

You're taking him seriously again. You need to stop doing that.
