  • From what I have been told some of the priests in the SSPX were ordained in the Novus Ordo rite, or that their bishop was ordained in the Novus Ordo rite. This concerns me for a friend of mine attends the Mass in Eddystone, PA. Does anyone have any information about Fr. Robertson?

  • We go to St Jude's to Eddystone, PA.
    Father Robinson is our priest.

He helped to make sure a poor man received a proper burial which
Was a great example of Christian charity.

May God bless you and keep you

  • I'm not sure how comfortable they'd feel about that. Thank you for responding :) Do you happen to know who ordained him by any chance?

  • Not sure if they have already done a thread on that topic on CathInfo. But you might want to ask Matthew about that if there can be some sticky thread on Resistance and Crisis threads etc...

Dealing with priest in the SSPX who have not been properly ordained in a Catholic rite. If there is someone who has done a list already, can they please show me the link? Thanks

  • I believe you are talking about Father Kevin Robinson who used to be my priest in New York and now says Mass in Pennsylvania. I don't remember which SSPX Bishop ordained him, but I know he was ordained by an SSPX bishop in the old rite so his orders do not come from the doubtful Novus Ordo.

I believe there is or used to be a priest who came from the Novus Ordo living with him in Ridgefield who has doubtful Novus Ordo orders but Father Robinson is okay himself.

  • If you are talking about Fr. Kevin Robinson, not Robertson, then he was ordained by Bp. Williamson.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • I know he was ordained by Lefebvre or one of the four bishops. I've been to his masses, he isn't hostile to sedevacantists but he definitely isn't in support of the position. That said, I thought his mass was reverent and he was good at meeting the needs of the chapel members when he served us.

  • I knew Father Kevin Robinson at the seminary about 25 years ago; ordained SSPX.  Due to the infiltration of Novus Ordo priests into SSPX, a relative of mine used to look up all their priests in Cor Unum to make sure they were ordained SSPX.  Otherwise he would inquire about a conditional ordination.  Sometimes priests are "secretly" ordained conditionally, which never made sense; I guess it's OK to appease the conscience of the priest but the stupid lay people have to just shut up and take whichever doubtful priest SSPX might throw at them.

Having Novus Ordo "priests" operate in SSPX chapels was one of the biggest reasons The Nine originally split off ... a Fr. / Mr. Stark in particular.

That might be what my friend was talking about. I might be mixing up stories.

Maybe it was a Monsignor Burns?

Is Cor Unum a website one can visit?
