I was just wondering-- is it the purpose of Biblical Law to tell us what to do or what not to do?

The Law does not make us holy. It does not make us good.

It acts as a mirror.

It shows us what perfection is. By comparing ourselves to It, we are shown that we are sinful.

To quote St. Paul:

"If righteousness could come by the Law, then Christ died in vain!"

You do realize, of course that there is a CHURCH, which is needed to interpret and enforce Divine Law, don't you?
