Curious! Why would kids bring guns to school as late as the 1950's (my schooling years)?
My grandfather and great-uncles lived in the country in farms, and said all the boys used to bring their shotguns to school so they could hunt on the way home. The coat room always had shotguns in it during the fall.
PS: And his boys (my uncles) used to stop at the bar on the way home with a note from him to the bartender to fill their lunch pails with beer to bring him on their way home.
PPS: My great-great-grandparents we’re married when my grandfather was 26, and my grandmother only 14. They were married in the church with the blessings of both families, and all agreed it was a good match, as grandma’s youth hoped to provide many boys to help out on the farm. They had 17 children and were married over fifty years, with grandma buried in the Franciscan habit (tertiary). The word pedophilia never occurred to anyone, and least of all my grandfather.
Why?
Michael Matt gave the answer: When we took God out of the classroom, we got sick and deranged.
Ironic that the little monsters we make vent their anger right back at the schools who made them so miserable. That’s the poisoned fruits and consequences of secularism.
