Did you know that apostates are more separated from the Church than heretics?

Who rejects the "ecumenism of the return"? You got it. Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI:

We all know there are numerous models of unity and you know that the Catholic Church also has as her goal the full visible unity of the disciples of Christ, as defined by the Second Vatican Ecumenical Council in its various Documents (cf. Lumen Gentium, nn. 8, 13; Unitatis Redintegratio, nn. 2, 4, etc.). This unity, we are convinced, indeed subsists in the Catholic Church, without the possibility of ever being lost (cf. Unitatis Redintegratio, n. 4); the Church in fact has not totally disappeared from the world.

"On the other hand, this unity does not mean what could be called ecumenism of the return:  that is, to deny and to reject one's own faith history. Absolutely not!

"It does not mean uniformity in all expressions of theology and spirituality, in liturgical forms and in discipline. Unity in multiplicity, and multiplicity in unity:  in my Homily for the Solemnity of Sts Peter and Paul on 29 June last, I insisted that full unity and true catholicity in the original sense of the word go together. As a necessary condition for the achievement of this coexistence, the commitment to unity must be constantly purified and renewed; it must constantly grow and mature." (Ecumenical meeting at the Archbishopric of Cologne English)

Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI dares to use the word "fathers" to refer to the Protestant revolutionaries, including Luther himself. Those revolutionaries had a "father." He is known by the names of Lucifer, Satan, the devil.
Anyone who thinks that the "popes" of the counterfeit church of concilairism have maintained the teaching of the Catholic Church "exactly the same" as Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ"instituted it" is not thinking very clearly.

Oh, by the way, did I tell you that Joseph Ratzinger/Benedict XVI is an apostate, that he is a betrayer of Christ the King and the Catholic Faith, that he is a mortal enemy of the souls redeemed by the shedding of the Most Precious Blood of Our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ? Have I told you that lately?
"I receive Thee, redeeming Prince of my soul. Out of love for Thee have I studied, watched through many nights, and exerted myself: Thee did I preach and teach. I have never said aught against Thee. Nor do I persist stubbornly in my views. If I have ever expressed myself erroneously on this Sacrament, I submit to the judgement of the Holy Roman Church, in obedience of which I now part from this world." Saint Thomas Aquinas the greatest Doctor of the Church

  • LoT, I love the way you start these threads and then disappear when you get refuted--as in the BXVI list of heresies thread.

  • On this one, I'll throw the ball back into your court.  Explain how this is heretical.  Which dogma does it contradict and why?  Since you're making the accusation of heresy, the burden of proof is on you.  Rather than just citing the text and assuming it's proof of heresy, I demand that you explain which dogma it contradicts and why.  [PS -- I have a possible answer for this.  Just checking to see whether you do.]

  • I attend Mass at the chapel of an SSPX-aligned priest in Akron, OH -- Father Leo Carley.  I also regularly attend Eastern Rite Catholic liturgies (Ukrainian Catholic and Byzantine Catholic).

    Why do you ask?

  • Because I couldn't  figure out where you went.

How do you justify going to the SSPX when you clearly recognize the Pope?  I'm not trying to be contentious, I sincerely want to know.

The SSPX recognize the Pope......why do you think they do not? Went to SSPX Chapel 9/2009, they had a big picture of B16 and hear the ones near me have same....SPX as a organization and the majority of its members are NOT sedes

I hold the status of the papacy to be in doubt.  I have defended Benedict XVI against accusations of heresy on this thread in the interests of being honest and seeking the truth.  I want to show that the statements cited here to not rise to the level of being unequivocal slam-dunk proofs of heresy.

Most in the SSPX recognize the pope, well at least consider him to be a a legitimate pope.  So are you saying that it's inconsistent to recognize the pope and at the same time attend SSPX Masses?  Where do you attend Mass?

I am not afraid of people being contentious with me either, so fire away if you disagree with me on anything.  I am not easily offended.  If you are right, then it would be an act of charity to correct me.  If I am right, then your being critical in no way changes that fact.  I am seeking the truth in order to be close to God, not in order to be "right".

1983 Code of Canon Law actually states that one can attend even an openly schismatic (e.g. Orthodox) Liturgy/Mass for any "just reason".  Msgr. Perl issued a position that one can attend SSPX Masses and even contribute to their collection.  Consequently, when conservative Novus Ordo Catholics claim that we cannot attend Mass there, they're trying to be more Catholic than the pope.

  • I went to Minn back 9/09 and looking at the "regular" churches there and no EC Churches, went w/joy and w/o hesitation to SSPX chapel.....went to confession, etc.

Tell ya, at 8 AM, the line was huge for confession and Church packed by time Mass started.....

Does the SSPX allow Sedes in ranks as priests?

Does the SSPX consider Sedevacantionism a grevious error, actual heresy or schism (leaving CM out of it and the question of whether sedes can be saved for the moment)?

Does the SSPX give Communion to known lay Sedes?

Does the Eastern Rite priest know your views on the doubtfullness of Pope Benedict and the sinfullness of attending the Novus Ordo?
