  • Does anyone have an amount as to how many Priests from The Society of Pius X have been thrown out since the year 2000 for questioning the Society going back to Rome ?

  • In December/2013, Fr. Pfluger is reported to have stated:

"Since 2006, we have lost [60/66] priests..."
    https://www.therecusant.com/fr-pfluger-jan14

So, that number was current as of 1-1-14.

But that number includes not only those who were expelled or left in protest over the ralliement of the SSPX, but also those who left for the conciliar church, or went independent or sedevacantist as well.

The following is a partial list of those who were expelled for protesting, or who resigned because of the SSPX compromises.  It includes only those priests and bishops whe were formal members of the SSPX (i.e., not "associate priests," affiliated religious, or friendly independents):

    1. Bishop Williamson
    2. Bishop Zendejas
    3. Bishop Faure
    4. Fr. de Merode
    5. Fr. Koller
    6. Fr. Pinaud

  • Of this list of 44 priests to have left or been expelled by the SSPX because of the ralliement, Fr. Paul Morgan and Fr. David Aldalur (France) are the only ones to have left in the last 24 months.

  • Father David Aldalur is within the Society, at present in Spain assigned as chaplain of the servant sisters of Jesus Priest and dedicated to the apostolate in the region of Andalucía, since last summer more or less.

Here I lend you two links so you can check it out:

    Thank you, Nico.

I was relying upon this announcement:

“Fr. David Aldalur officially announced yesterday [July 30] from the pulpit at Villefranque (near Bayonne) his entry to the Capuchins on September 8, 2017.”  (http://resistance.vraiforum.com/t346-Nouvelles-de-M-l-abbe-Aldalur.htm)

This was in response to his treatment as one of the Seven Deans of the French District, just a couple months after they protested the SSPX marriage guidelines.

But based on the Spanish Facebook link you sent, it looks like he left Morgon and fell back into line like the rest of them subsequent to that announcement:

"David Aldalur (France), who has been assigned to the Autonomous House of Spain; after having passed through different chapels in France and lately having been for several months in the convent of the Capuchins."

  • Yes. It seems Fr. Aldalur was some months with the capuccins. I remember to have seen a photo of him as a friar.. beard included... even with a religious name. Maybe he saw that it wasn't his place and then returned to the SSPX. I got the impression that he has never been in contact with the Resistance.

At the time of the 2017 French announcement, Morgon would have been considered by many (not all) Resistance:

They had just discretely published a book against an accord with modernist Rome, which they presented to Bishop Fellay; they declared that if their Ordinations were to be denied again that they would seek out the services of Bishop Faure or Williamson; they signed onto the the Letter of Seven Deans condemning the new marriage guidelines; and with the (apparently temporary) addition of Fr. Aldalur to Fr. de Cacqueray and Fr. Paul Morgan, were becomming something of a SSPX refugee center.

But for all that, they were never quite able to get off the fence, and since 2009, they have been vacillating (e.g., the famous opposition to Bishop Fellay of Fr. Jean; Fr. Jean's exposure of the GREC; etc., only to be seen a short time later touring the USA with the SSPX, or joining in pilgrimages with the SSPX shortly after these little uprisings).

Most recently, they have supported the new marriage guidelines by performing a marriage at a wedding in which the delegation of the diocesan bishop was given to a Capuchin.

I guess you could make an argument either way, but currently they seem to have fallen back into line with the SSPX en masse.

  • There was a young French priest named Fr. De Chambour that was in the USA, who left the SSPX. He spoke good Spanish, and I was told that he went to the Dominican Republic to care for a poor mission there.  I believe his father was an important man in France. Anyone know  the details? How you spell his name, about him and where he is?

He definitely left the SSPX because of some kind of disagreement which he alluded to in a very ambiguous and contradictory letter, but I am not sure what ever became of him.

When he left, he was assigned to Fr. Vernoy’s “toilet plunger” priory, which is never good for a vocation.

You can read about it all here:

  • Fr. Garcia is an independent priest working in Mexico now. He cites the Crisis in the Church as justification for not working with any bishop.
(Even though God has provided not 1, but 4 faithful Traditional bishops that a priest can submit to and work under.)

I understand working with the four bishops, but don’t you think that for a priest to “submit” himself is akin to suggesting that the bishops have ordinary jurisdiction? I’m assuming you don’t mean it in that sense.
For what doth it profit a man, if he gain the whole world, and suffer the loss of his own soul? Or what exchange shall a man give for his soul?
