Children release two doves with the pope from the apostolic window. Both are snatched up by other birds.

You see, what happens is that all of that papal double talk makes the dove's mind spin with all of the mental gymnastics it takes to bring his statements in line with tradition, so it becomes weak and fatigued so other birds are able to snatch them up.
