Michael J. Matt comments on the new prayer video of Pope Francis. With the world blowing up all around us, babies being aborted by the millions, marriage all but destroyed and the Christian family on life support—why is the pope so worried about us all going green? Is there something else going on here? It’s like the lyrics for John Lennon’s “Imagine” are now influencing papal policy. God help us what is going on. By the way, do you love the pope? That seems to be all the matters to the neo-Catholics. But just how relevant is that?
What does it profit us if we save the environment, the forests, the oceans, and the whales, but lose our souls because we have failed to pray unceasingly, to forgive our enemies, to protect the helpless, and to love God with our entire being?

I'm sure helping the environment is important. BUT, there are far more important things than that.

Nothing.
Every time save the environment comes up, I can't help but remember a sermon I heard back when "give a hoot, don't pollute" was the rage. The priest connected sin with pollution, basically saying a filthy earth is the result of a sinful people. He said they can preach ecology and recycle and etc. for a hundred years, but without Holy Mother the Church, people will sin more and more and as long as that continues, the earth can only get more and more polluted.

It is true that we pollute the earth with our sins and defile the image of Christ within us.

Part of the ultra - naturalist masonic agenda which promises Heaven on earth.
True life is not in this earth so why not swifting the priorities? The Catholic Church is not supposed to be an intra - national environmentalist agency but a divine society which safeguards the Truth revealed by God for the eternal salvation of souls and the supernatural life of Grace transcending this earth.

What about Saving Souls with the True Catholic Faith.
The earth will take care of itself. It has through the ages.
Environmentalism is just a religion with no supernatural
benefits.
