Carmelite Convents recommendation ?

  • I was wondering if anyone could recommend a Carmelite Convent for receiving prayer intention stipends?

I'm looking for traditional Catholic Carmelites, receiving pre Vatican II Sacraments. A convent that is not open to an accord with newRome.

Does such a Carmelite order exist?
Thanks for your help... this is obviously a touchy subject.

  • Are you thinking of becoming a benefactor?  If so, I salute you!

It's a practice I recommend of everyone on this forum.  Find a traditional convent, and make donations.

If I'm misreading your post, then I do apologize.

Yes, I would like to occasionally send a Carmelite convent stipends for prayer intentions.

Father de la Tour (SSPX) once told me that if you ever have an important issue to deal with, send a prayer request to the Carmelites.

They have the "big guns" with Heaven for getting our prayer requests efficaciously answered

  • The only traditional Carmelite community I know anything about is the Carmelite Community of the Holy Trinity in Spokane, Washington.  They are affilliated with the SSPX.  More information about them can be found on the SSPX website:

    http://www.sspx.org/Vocations/carmelites_in_the_usa.htm

When my daughter was investigating a vocation she spoke with the Reverend Monther there extensively and kept in contact with them for some time, though she eventually entered the CMRI, also located in Spokane.

This is one of the communities that people such as John Vennari were discussing when there seemed a real probability that there was going to be a canonical agreement between the SSPX and Rome since it was unclear as to what would happen with the non-SSPX orders that received the Sacraments from and were affiliated with the SSPX.

Yes. TKGS, I'm concerned about where Carmel of the Holy
Trinity stands on the canonical agrement ?

I didn't catch Vennari's comments, but since he brushed off Msgr. Williamson's
expulsion from the SSPX, I don't pay much mind to him anymore.

I recall the Abbot at the Silver City,  Benedictine Monastery threw his full
support to Msgr. Fellay.  This was a red flag for me.
Reminds me of the monastery hijacking in the film "Catholics".

Thank you for the reference Cheryl!

This looks like a very traditional convent.  I'd never heard of them?

Their hand made statues and Rosaries look so impressive.

I noticed they do Rosary and Statue repair too.
