Interesting.  The pope may/will say an invariably and undoubtedly valid Catholic mass.  Maybe people could chime in and say why they wouldn't attend?  Assume all expenses are paid for.  The pontifical TLM comes to you.  Why don't you go?

Well, I would happily go.  But then I think the pope is the pope and the Mass is the Mass, regardless of the rite in which it is celeberated.

However, the Pope MAY celebrate the TLM is hardly cause for great excitement.  He could have done so at any time since becoming pope, and hasn't.

Let's read every Eleison Comments by the Athanasius of the 21st century who resists the modernistic Newpope. These Comments strengthen our faith and answer most of our questions. I'm sad so many "traditional" Catholics don't read them.

  • I doubt very much Benedict 16 will be offering this Mass.  A Pontifical High Mass is said by a bishop.  Nothing in this news release mentions Benedict and I doubt very much he will be the celebrant.  My guess is that this group has either found a willing bishop and will bring him along or one of the bishops in the curia has accepted the invitation to be the celebrant.

I guess we'll find out on September 10th.

So it only took Benedict seven years to reportedly announce he's going to offer a TLM. Alright, and he still does nothing about the ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs and pedophiles in the priesthood, and still espouses ecuмenism and heresy.

Nothing? Interesting how easily some people around here are willing to site the Marxist agitprop that the Catholic Church is doing nothing about the so-called abuse crisis.

They've done quite a bit institutionally to address the exceedingly rare instances of ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖs preying on children and there have been several high-level dismissals of Liberal prelates for unknown reasons in the last year.

You should probably take notice that the great weight of the abuse accusations stem from the late sixties into the early eighties and significantly drop off.

*Newsflash* Pope to say Catholic Mass.

More table scraps to the dogs I fear. I'm still holding out for the renewed condemnations of Ecuмenism and the New Theology as a whole.

It's not extremely rare, it's actually quite common. Cardinal Levada is a ɧoɱosɛҳųαƖ, yet Benedict appointed him as head of the CDF and moved him to Rome just as he was about to go to court for covering up sex abuse scandals.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

  • Really, this is no big deal. If Benedict were to abolish the bastard protestant rite, the NO, and indefinitely say the Tridentine Mass, i could see us getting excited.

But lets remember the words of Bishop Williamson, that the Faith is greater than the Mass. Because we may be saved without the Mass but cannot be saved without the Faith. Benedict may say a Mass, but does he have the Faith ? Would he be recognized as Peter to any other Catholic prior to the reformation within  the Church ? I think not.

Do you know how often it happens?

I'm sure you have the statistics, right?

Inmho, you're either a Marxist or an unwitting meme along with everyone else like you.

FACT: Almost all accusations against Catholic priests date from decades ago, and indeed nearly half of all abuse accusations concern priests who are already dead. In an institution of 77 million people, contemporaneous accusations of abuse against Catholic clergy in the United States are very rare, recently averaging only 8.5 allegations deemed "credible" each year.

The Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA), the independent research organization out of Georgetown University, has been tracking abuse data regarding United States Catholic clergy for several years. CARA issues annual reports through the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).
According to CARA, here are the numbers of accusations involving a current minor that were even deemed "credible" each year from 2005 to 2011:
    Year / # of accusations
    2011   7
    2010   8
    2009   6
    2008   10
    2007   4
    2006   14
    2005   9
Meanwhile, according to government numbers, in 2010 alone, there were some 63,527 reported cases of child sɛҳuąƖ abuse in the United States – an alarming societal problem that has received scant media attention.

good point on NO and was talking about this just the other night to my mother, noting to her that the TLM alone was not enough, but everything in theology, practice that went with it.......she seems to think that having a TLM somewhere is good enough and noted 'well, we cant really ask for much nor expect much more". Then went on to say the "gospel choir 'mass" was fine if they, the black folks, wanted it.......so, back to inclusiveness.....

Sounds like pure speculation based the assumption of actual knowledge on the part of the writer:

A: She claims to know that the Pope is waiting to say the Mass because he's waiting for a new Missal to be published.

B: She claims to know that the revised 62' Missal will be the 65' Missal as she veers off in another, unrelated direction to attack Bishop Fellay.

  • If B16 wants to say the TLM, then, why not just use the 1962 missal...or one prior.......to be sure he has or could find any version.....
