“The Shoah [h0Ɩ0cαųst] has been a cloud in Pope John Paul’s day and Pope Benedict’s, and maybe it will now get resolved,” said ADL’s  national director Abraham Foxman. “He [Pope Francis] indicated in his book the need to open the archives.”

Pope Francis, 76, is the first Jesuit ever to be chosen pope. He publicly called for the opening of the Vatican archives when he was known as Cardinal Jorge Maria Bergoglio. He said its opening was necessary to learn the true role Pope Pius XII played during the h0Ɩ0cαųst.

There have been allegations that Pope Pius XII, who is on track to be canonized by the Church, remained silent despite the mass extermination of Jєωs and that he was friendly to the nαzιs. Others have claimed that he secretly instructed Catholic clergy to hide Jєωs, and that he did so himself inside the walls of Vatican City.

Rabbi Abraham Skorka, who co-authored a book in 2010 with the new pope, “On Heaven and Earth,” told The Jєωιѕн Week that they devoted a chapter to analyzing “the attitude of Pope Pius XII during the Second World War. [Cardinal Bergoglio’s] answer was, in essence, that we have to wait to open all the archives and analyze all the details regarding this issue.”

Asked if he believes that with his new authority Pope Francis will order the opening of the archives, Rabbi Skorka replied: “I believe yes, that his attitude will be to search for all of the details and to open all the archives. He will use this opportunity to learn the truth.”

Rabbi Skorka said that during his discussion with Cardinal Bergoglio about this issue, “I explained that I could not understand how a person — a spiritual leader — didn’t involve himself more and more during the Shoah [h0Ɩ0cαųst]. His answer was, ‘Let us continue searching to reach the truth.’”

  • The h0Ɩ0cαųst is the new religion.

Forgetting the millions that suffered and died under communist rule.

  • Good.  An honest investigation of all the sources will, I am confident, show Pius XII for the saintly man and great pope he was.
Stir up within Thy Church, we beseech Thee, O Lord, the Spirit with which blessed Josaphat, Thy Martyr and Bishop, was filled, when he laid down his life for his sheep: so that, through his intercession, we too may be moved and strengthen by the same Spir

  • Pope Pius XII's handling of the "h0Ɩ0cαųst" should really have no affect on his Canonization. Just Canonize the man and forget about the Jєωs.
Please ignore ALL of my posts. I was naive during my time posting on this forum and didn’t know any better. I retract and deeply regret any and all uncharitable or erroneous statements I ever made here.

Progress seems likely to be made away from the truth, instead of toward the truth if either:

    *  Access to the Vatican archives is allowed to promoters of a Jєωιѕн agenda not to "to learn the truth", but pander to a selective search so as to exaggerate the importance or numbers of Jєωιѕн victims; and

    *  No access to the corresponding KGB & Soviet-era Kremlin archives is allowed to evaluate the Evil Empire's involvement in creating or supporting "Hitler's Pope" propaganda to defame traditional Catholicism.

On the former point, my understanding is that most of the Poles who died in nαzι forced-labor or cσncєnтrαтισn cαмρs were Roman Catholic, and numbered in the millions (I wish I could quickly find a compelling source to cite).

On the latter point, it would be highly desirable to confirm the discussion about very-high-level Soviet-bloc plans, code-named "Seat-12", to defame Pius XII as antiSemitic, revealed in the fascinating first-person account"Moscow's Assault on the Vatican" (2007), by Lt. Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa of Rumania.  Pacepa is described by the National Review Online as "the highest-ranking intelligence officer ever to have defected from the former Soviet bloc", and is the author of the book Red Horizons.

I agree with you in principle, but in reality I hope an honest pope (Francis or another) would investigate the matter so that the evidence is there and so that the Jєωs (et all) will shut the hell up and be evidence of their bad will (not that we need more, but I find nothing wrong in defending the name and reputation of our saintly pope, Pius XII).

  • By all means, let's investigate.

Let's look at Jєωιѕн involvement in the Bolshevik revolution.

Let's get to the bottom of the seven million Ukrainians deliberated starved to death from 1932-1933 to see (1) what role the Jєωs played and (2) why the world stood by silently and did nothing since, unlike the so called h0Ɩ0cαųst, the world wasn't involved in a useless, murderous war that claim 70 million lives.

Yes, indeed, let us do some examining.

  • I question the motives of an article that quotes "ADL’s  national director Abraham Foxman", then presents unattributed innuendo in the weaseling passive: "There have been allegations".  Uh, huh.   Which special-interest groups might've been the principal source(s) of such "allegations", hmmm?  Any identifiable groups out there with axes to grind?

So I seriously doubt that the interests that Foxman represents are honestly seeking an "opportunity to learn the truth".

Fortunately for the peace-of-mind of traditional Catholics, an extensive fishing trip into the Vatican archives, for the purpose of finding docuмentary dirt to smear Pius XII, has already been tried by real experts: a Soviet-bloc intelligence service doing the bidding of the KGB.  And they failed.

In the previously cited "Moscow's Assault on the Vatican" (2007), Lt. Gen. Ion Mihai Pacepa of Rumania explained the concept of the plan code-named "Seat 12":
    Quote from: Lt.-Gen. Pacepa (January 25, 2007 7:40 A.M.)
Because Pius XII had served as the papal nuncio in Munich and Berlin when the nαzιs were beginning their bid for power, the KGB wanted to depict him as an αnтι-ѕємιтє who had encouraged Hitler’s h0Ɩ0cαųst.

It was during the papacy of John XXIII that Pacepa leveraged some good will from a prisoner-swap to arrange extensive access to the Vatican archives for 3 agents of Rumania's Departamentul de Informatii Externe
    • , posing as priests.  Their assignment was apparently not only to search docuмents in the Vatican archives for any & all incriminating material that was produced by the Vatican, but also to photograph anything remotely relevant.

Quote from: Lt.-Gen. Ion Pacepa (continued)
      During 1960-62, the DIE
      • succeeded in pilfering hundreds of docuмents connected in any way with Pope Pius XII out of the Vatican Archives and the Apostolic Library. Everything was immediately sent to the KGB via special courier. In actual fact, no incriminating material against the pontiff ever turned up in all those secretly photographed docuмents.
      -------
Note *:  Departamentul de Informatii Externe, ominously abbreviated DIE: Rumania's Department of External Information, i.e.: foreign intelligence.

  • Pius V was the pope from 1566 till he died in 1572. In 1696 (that's 124 after his death) , the process of Pius's canonisation was started !
He was declared a saint in 1712, that's 16 years after the process was started. All in all, it took 140 years for Pius V to be declared a saint.

There were no other sainted popes till Pius X in the 20th century.

What makes people think that any pope can be a saint?

    ANSWER: Slow boiling.

There are only two sainted popes since 1371. That is the way it is. Not one pope more will be a saint of all of the popes that have died since 1371. There truly are no other saint popes since 1371.

“The people of Israel will never forget what His Holiness and his illustrious delegates, inspired by the eternal principles of religion which form the very foundation of true civilization, are doing for our unfortunate brothers and sisters in the most tragic hour of our history, which is living proof of divine Providence in this world.” Chief Rabbi Isaac Herzog of Palestine, February 28, 1945.

"Never will anyone who says his Rosary every day become a formal heretic ... This is a statement I would sign in my blood." St. Montfort, Secret of the Rosary. I support the FSSP, the SSPX and other priests who work for the restoration of doctrinal orthodoxy and liturgical orthopraxis in the Church. I accept Vatican II if interpreted in the light of Tradition and canonisations as an infallible declaration that a person is in Heaven. Sedevacantism is schismatic and Ecclesiavacantism is heretical.
