While Francis is certainly a leftist, it really isn't fair to pick out single pictures like this and generalize from them.
In the real world, one often must work with what one
already has, not with what one
wishes he had, or
assumes he
might get.
But in what would've been my addendum (had the bits not dried too quickly in my reply), I'd concede that the first-posted photo might've been cherry-picked (olive-picked?) by whatever source publicized it, for its perceived value in making "
Mr. Humility" look like an
ingrate.
Whenever the pope (or any public figure) has an event that the press is invited to, they are snapping pictures several times a second. There will invariably be a few where he has strange facial expressions.
Yes, and it's up to the photographer or photo editor to prevent the latter from "getting out". Altho' skewing collections of released images--toward the
better or the
worse--can satisfy certain agendas.
