If Prevost were to...
« on: February 22, 2026, 06:49:20 PM »
Suddenly profess the true Catholic faith. Would sedes consider him a real Pope? What he gain power in the office as Pope? What if he also gets ordained and consecrated in the old rites by a trad bishop? Would he automatically gain facilities for both or after one of these? Would he need to be re-elected? Who would need to so this election to be considered valid?

Sedeprivationists likely would, but then I even heard Mario Derksen (totalist) say that if Prevost professed Catholicism, became Traditional, and gained Universal Acceptance, he wouldn't rule out accepting him as such.

But these hypotheticals are not worth the time or mental energy to consider.  When we have a Traditional Catholic Pope, it'll be clear that God selected him.

Even if apparently very unlikely, the solution of the crisis that seems closer to reality to me is exactly what you describe. Not exactly Prevost, but any Conciliar "Pope".
