So here Tucho undercuts the typical pope-splainer explanation for such thoughts when they've been expressed before.
So, had he stopped before the first semicolon above there, the papal-claimant-splainers or Tucho-splainers would have asserted that it's just an expression of his wish, rooted in compassion, etc. ... except that Tucho immediately rules it out and claims this is revealed truth. So the man's clearly a heretic (as if that wasn't already knowable before ... but this puts another nail into that coffin).
In any case, still think the entire Church crisis since Vatican II isn't all about EENS?
To paraphrase that old political slogan, "It's all about EENS, stupid." Rahner, one the V2 masterminds, admitted that this was THE most revolutionary aspect of Vatican II and marveled that it went unnoticed by the conservative Fathers at V2, who uttered not a peep about it.
