  • Readers: Please IGNORE all my postings here. I was a recent convert and fell into errors, even heresy for which hopefully my ignorance excuses. These include rejecting the "rhythm method," rejecting the idea of "implicit faith," and being brieflfy quasi-Jansenist. I also posted occasions of sins and links to occasions of sin, not understanding the concept much at the time, so do not follow my links.

  • Who cares what your thoughts are?  And why are you starting new threads when you've ignored very serious questions and problems presented in others?  Do you think that if you keep repeating yourself it will come true?!

  • Raoul, for those that see no explanation is necessary. Lumen Gentium is a heretical docuмent. Those who uphold it are heretics.
If it is not Catholic it must be thrown out. God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today and always. And, so therefore any docuмents that are tainted with heresy must be avoided and those who proclaim those to be true must be avoided. The are experts at writing copius amounts of writings, that say nothing and are tinged with heresy. It is a drop of poison and it will kill.
These things can not be defended. It is either black or white. It is either good or evil. There is no room for shades of gray or for those who try to explain that there is.

  • So you don't believe that God "exists outside of the Church?"

If the criminal who was crucified trusted in Jesus' Mercy and was saved. . .

and if Cornelius, the Roman pagan in Acts, prayed to God and fasted was heard by God in His Mercy. . .

Then how much God in His Mercy will hear those who are
    Protestants and Orthodox!!

In short, you pervert the teaching of the Church.

John 9:31 - "31 Now we know that God doth not hear sinners: but if a man be a server of God, and doth his will, him he heareth."

Heresy is a sin.  The orthodox and protestants embrace and promote heresy.  Therefore, God does not hear protestants and the orthodox.

God's mercy is pure justice - pure justice does not embrace error.  The orthodox and protestants know of the Church and CHOOSE to reject her.

  • So, do you condemn them?

What about the protestant missionaries who bring the Gospel to natives in south America?

Are those natives, who have no knowledge of the Church, also rejecting it?

I imagine you disagree with Vatican 2? Aren't YOU a heretic then?

With what measure you use, it will be measured BACK to you!

Jesus said: ". . .and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a heathen and a tax collector."

You interpreted Church teaching erroneously, then Vatican 2 corrects it.

You could have humbly admitted that you were wrong, but you proudly proclaim that THE CHURCH IS WRONG!!

Then, to make matters worse for yourself on Judgment Day, not only do you try to justify yourself by calling post-V2 popes "anti-popes," but you PREACH this nonsense, scandalizing others!

At least when most protestants and orthodox do it, they do it out of ignorance.

You do it because of your guilt.

    Aren't you a hypocrite??

I do believe that James would disagree:

    James 2:13

because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment!

First of all, we are not Bible Christians who throw quotes against quotes - all in the scriptures must be understood together and interpreted by the Church.  We know that historically the Church says that the prayers of non-Catholics are not heard by God - nor is there salvation for those who are not united to the Church.

You can quote as much scripture as you want, but your interpretation of James as going against the perennial teachings of the Church is simply not permitted and is one of the crimes of the protestants.

  • Jesus said to St. Faustina many things.

Allow me to quote from her diary, which has been approved by the Church:

"Tell souls that from this fount of mercy [referring to Confession] souls draw graces solely with the vessel of trust. If their trust is great, there is no limit to My generosity. The torrents of grace inundate humble souls. The proud remain always in poverty and misery, because My grace turns away from them to humble souls."

"Oh, how much I am hurt by a soul's distrust! Such a soul professes that I am Holy and Just, but does not believe that I am Mercy and does not trust in My Goodness. Even the devils glorify My Justice but do not believe in My Goodness."

"When a soul praises My goodness, Satan trembles before it and flees to the very bottom of hell."

"Satan can even clothe himself in a cloak of humility, but he does not know how to wear the cloak of obedience and thus his evil designs will be disclosed."

"Satan has admitted to me[Faustina] that I am the object of his hatred. He said that "a thousand souls do me less harm than you do when you speak of the great mercy of the Almighty One. The greatest sinners regain confidence and return to God , and I lose everything. But what is more, you persecute me personally with that unfathomable mercy of the Almighty One." I took note of the great hatred Satan has for the mercy of God. He does not want to acknowledge that God is good."

"Today the Lord said to me, I have opened My Heart as a living fountain of mercy. Let [souls] approach this sea of mercy with great trust. Sinners will attain justification, and the just will be confirmed in good. Whoever places his trust in My mercy will be filled with My divine peace at the hour of death."

"Tell them that no soul that has called upon My mercy has been disappointed or brought to shame. I delight particularly in a soul which has placed its trust in My goodness. "

"The graces of My mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, and that is - trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive. Souls that trust boundlessly are a great comfort to Me, because I pour all the treasures of My graces into them. I rejoice that they ask for much, because it is My desire to give much, very much. On the other hand, I am sad when souls ask for little, when they narrow their hearts."

"This evening, Jesus said to me, My daughter, do you need anything? I answered, "O my Love, when I have You I have everything." And the Lord answered, If souls would put themselves completely in My care, I Myself would undertake the task of sanctifying them, and I would lavish even greater graces on them. There are souls who thwart My efforts, but I have not given up on them; as often as they turn to Me, I hurry to their aid, shielding them with My mercy, and I give them the first place in My compassionate Heart."

"Entrust everything to Me and do nothing on your own, and you will always have great freedom of spirit. No circuмstances of events will be able to upset you."

"heaven and earth would pass away before My Mercy didn't embrace a soul that trusted in It."

Approval of apparitions by the Church does not constitute infallibility or determine them to be the word of God.  I, in fact, quoted a scriptural reference to the fact that God does not hear the prayers of sinners (including heretics).  You can try to pretend he does if you really want to, but you will be contradicting scripture and the perennial teachings of the Church.

The pure justice of God does, of course, include mercy.  But in justly ignoring those in sin, He is mercifully rewarding those not.  God's mercy does not contradict His justice which you seem to want to be the case.
