  • I just watched a padre pio movie. Some parts seemed a little off it was ok generally. I couldnt help but notice two things that really bother me.

#1 Padre Pio met a young priest who later he said would become pope (jp11) but in the movie he went on to comment that he would be a good pope??? Plus he prayed with him ALL NIGHT which is good but Im getting a mixed picture here?

#2 Days before he died it shows padre pio celebrating mass facing the people I was sure that Padre Pio requested from Rome to continue saying the old mass?
    Something is amiss here????

I love Padre pio alot I just cant see a man that dealt with angels and demons yielding to modernizm???

Any answers greatly appreciated thanks , Annie O

  • Padre Pio died in 1968, the New Mass didn't come out until 1969.

There were some transitory changes and experimentation before '69 such as ad orientam, etc.

For those who I have unjustly offended, please forgive me. Please disregard my posts where I lacked charity and you will see that I am actually a very nice person. Disregard my opinions on "NFP", "Baptism of Desire/Blood" and the changes made to the sacra

  • I read that Padre Pio refused to hear the future john paul ii's confession.
I read that Karol Wojtyla had gone to Padre Pio for confession, but Padre Pio refused to hear the future john paul ii's confession.
I also read that john paul ii denied that Padre Pio had said john paul ii would one day be pope.
    It is lies and propaganda.
Many lies have been told about Padre Pio.
More than once people have falsely tried to claim that Padre Pio supported their particular person or group or visionary or whatever.

Padre Pio died before the novus ordo was introduced. So Padre Pio never said the novus ordo.

  • I was alive when the novus ordo was introduced, and although I was not Catholic yet, my mom's family was. I remember it was a major subject for discussion in our family.

The NOM was introduced in 1970, and made mandatory in I think 1974. However, from the end of V2 to 1970, some slight changes were being experimented with. Actually the changes began before V2, with the "dialogue mass", which encouraged the people to say the server's parts, similar to protestant services, and unlike traditional RC and traditional Eastern Orthodox liturgies.

Hence, Padre Pio might have been aware of the slight changes before the formal introduction of the NOM, but as for actually saying the NOM, no he didn't.
"If I am not in the state of grace, may the Lord put me in it. And if I am in the state of grace, may the Lord keep me in it".--St Jehanne D'Arc, during her trial.

  • The NO was introduced in 1969 and was made mandatory in 1971.

Padre Pio knew the Church was being infiltrated. He said Freemasonry had even reached the shoes of the Pope. It's obvious he would never have celebrated the Bogus Ordo.

  • Just found this nugget...

    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/25/world/europe/25padre.html?%20em&ex=1209268800&en=84a71c80872b2247&ei=5087%0A

    Quote
Popes had various opinions of him, however, the harshest being John XXIII, who, a recent book contends, considered him a fraud and a womanizer. In 1960, the pope wrote of Padre Pio’s “immense deception.”

A Vatican doctor called him “an ignorant and self-mutilating psychopath who exploited people’s credulity.” Many suspected that his wounds were caused by carbolic acid, which, one recently unearthed document contends, he once ordered from a pharmacist.

  • How do you all deal with the fact that it was JPII who canonized him?

How can a nefarioous heretic and anti-pope canonize Padre Pio?

The sedes among you have to refuse to accept JPII's canonizations. Therefore you must reject the canonization of Padre Pio.

  • Padre Pio was the absolute Last of the Mohicans. His death marks the end of the era of Tradition.

Saints stand on their own merits Santo. While Sedes reject the official pronouncements of canonization, it is very simple to look at their lives realize they were obviously saintly people. The Pope doesn't MAKE saints, he recognizes them in an official capacity. But it is the PEOPLE who recognize them FIRST.
'Take care not to resemble the multitude whose knowledge of God's will only condemns them to more severe punishment.'

I would say JPII, Mother Theresa, and probably Pope Benedict and Archbishop Sheen.

Kidding. Though Archbishop Sheen was not too bad.
