I agree and that's why many years ago, Catholic authorities didn't just throw idols away, they destroyed them.

Yes, there are a bunch of johnny-come-lately Trads who think they've discovered this position. They're all excited, busy about planting their flag but they completely overlook the 50-year-old flag with Archbishop Lefebvre's crest on it, tattered and flapping in the wind...

In a similar vein, there are a bunch of conservatives and almost-Trads who are falling all over themselves to criticize Pope Francis, while completely ignoring the fact that ALL the post-Vatican II popes were on the same page. They totally forget about Assisi, the violation of the First Commandment that that their precious JP2 committed.
