  • This is nonsense, utter nonsense!!!!!!!!!!  Communion in the Hand poses a greater risk of transmission of pathogens (such as H1N1) than does Communion on the Tongue!!  During the height of the Plague during the Middle Ages, communicants still received Communion on the Tongue, even as they were dying in the streets.  This fact did not stop priests from giving them the Body of Christ!

  • any excuse they can use---of note, the NO parishs in my area had a humerous note to avoid the "common cup" and the Grope of Peace.....perhaps the ful preserves in an odd way, some sanctity after all......a lot of people were let down they could not hug, grope and generally, act like Baptists prior to "preachin'".
