Hello Can you present an overview of Opus Dei. I hear different opinions and require some guidance.
Anyone want to help him out?
Tell them that you disagree with Opus Dei for the right reasons as opposed to the wrong reasons. There are many things that Opus Dei has that are good and most criticisms of people against Opus Dei is because they are siding with the traditional teaching of the Catholic Church. So liberals hate Opus Dei for all the wrong reasons, and we have issues with Opus Dei because its founder was so intimate with the Second Vatican Council (robber Council of the Church), particularly the docuмent dealing with Ecuмenism. That was straight from Escriva, who used Opus Dei as a testing ground for broader Ecuмenism. Opus Dei admitted open members of the communist party in its upper ranks, during a time where it was excommunication to do so. Opus Dei currently still allows for non-Catholics to become supernumeraries, this is not acceptable to the traditional teaching of the Church. Their over emphasis on work is flawed, Escriva believed that work was necessary before the Fall. He says throughout his writings that Man was made for work, which is wrong. A small error in principle leads to great errors in conclusions.
