In closing, I would like to add that although my family and I are continuing with the Rosary Crusade, as it is a worthy cause, I do not intend to submit a tally of the Rosaries that we have said. I am of the opinion that publishing such results, as has been in the past, appears to be more of an accolade and for the publicity. Indeed, someone I know, called it in all innocence, a “Rosary competition”. Our Lady knows how many Rosaries that we have done, and that is what matters most for me
Any capitulation with Modernism can be legitimized by statistics?
I really don't want to go there. Reading this is enough of a
disturbance to my Rosary meditations. For it opens up a whole
new level of difficulty. The Rosary is supposed to be a sort of
sanctuary in our time, not a tool for political manipulation.
For the past 2 years I have not reported my Rosary tallies either,
but not because I had made this decision, literally. Rather there
was something I couldn't quite be sure of.
Our Lady knows how many Rosaries we have done, and that is
what matters most for me, too.
I say, go ahead and pray your Rosaries with the crusade intentions
included, and do so as Our Lord said, that "your right hand doesn't
know what your left hand is doing," and our Lady, who sees in private,
will see to it that your intentions are accounted for, and those who
would usurp this indulgence for their own agenda can go "pound sand."
