  Who cares?  That's not what the prayer means, or its purpose.

If you disagree, please show sources from theologians (or better, from some pope or Vatican docuмent) which DIRECTLY tells us that "una cuм" means what you say.

Fr Cekada (and whoever else) made it all up.

Isn't that what this pope said?  What's your take on this statement?

"Pope Benedict XIV seems to just use their quotes as proof of support/agreement for his point: "...it suffices Us to be able to state that a commemoration of the supreme pontiff and prayers offered for him during the sacrifice of the Mass is considered, and really is, an affirmative indication which recognizes him as the head of the Church, the vicar of Christ, and the successor of blessed Peter, and is the profession of a mind and will which firmly espouses Catholic unity.""

Hmm. And Benedict XIV goes on to say right after this:

This was rightly noticed by Christianus Lupus in his work on the Councils: “This commemoration is the chief and most glorious form of communion”.

I'm not sure who Christianus Lupus is, but the Pope thought his work worthy enough to include in his encyclical.

What is the purpose of this topic?  It doesn't seem that there are any Catholic priests omitting the name of the pope in the Canon, though there are some who are inserting the name of non-Catholics in the Canon.

Note the words that the pope said and what the pope did not say. He did not say that obeying heretic popes is the chief and most glorious form of communion, he said the commemoration of him in the Mass is....just before going on to condemn those who do not commemorate him in the sentences right after this.

Like doing our part in remembering the head of the church, but the Pope still has to do his part to be in union with the church and its teachings.

Thanks to all who have engaged in this topic. I am looking for information that makes me ask questions, so I can look for the answers until I have no more questions or objections.
