I thought it had to be voted by an act of Congress. It shows that Obama
rules as a Dictator.

My immediate reaction was, well, in response to anyone who accuses Obama of not having accomplished anything during two terms in office, he can say he was the first standing president to visit the Arctic of Alaska and he renamed Mt. McKinley "Mt. Denali" (the old Eskimo name for the mountain).

Therefore, he really DID "do something."

OK, he can change the name of the mountain to its original Eskimo name because there's such thing as executive orders. Every president has used them in some capacity (some more than others, I believe Reagan used the most).

I'm not a fan of Obama by any stretch of the imagination (one of our worst presidents), but this is ENTIRELY within his purview as president.

The mountain is in Alaska, and from what I understand, almost all Alaskans wanted it to go back to the original name. I don't have a problem with it.

Thanks. I suppose the Americans with no faith anyways might be more well-disposed to changing "Christmas" to something else, after seeing the tallest mountain in the North American continent renamed.

Would the Jєωs be okay with "Winter Solstice" instead of Chanukah?

Could they still use their creative menorahs for Winter Solstice?

(Do you suppose they're peeking through holes in the wall, or are they stuffing papers in the cracks?)

To your question, the Alaskan government (politicians from both parties) has actively been seeking to change the name back to Denali since 1975. I've been to Alaska, and everyone there that I spoke with there (admittedly anecdotal) referred to the mountain as Denali. And yes, media reports, both local and national, also indicate that most Alaskans favor and use the name Denali. Indeed, that is what the name of the park is called that contains the mountain.

In the past, the only real opposition to changing the name back has been from Ohio politicians (again, of both parties), because it is McKinley's home state.

I'm guessing the only reason most people oppose the name change is because Obama did it. While I oppose Obama's genuinely bad, and sometimes evil, decisions, he is not evil incarnate, and just because he does something doesn't necessarily make it wrong. His actions have to be judged individually. This one really isn't a big deal.

I wasn't quoting you, I was merely using the word in same way I would write "Pope" Francis. I've never actually seen anything that would actually demonstrate this to be a fact. However, I think you adequately explained this and I will accept your statement as fact.

Yes, he is because it is not a priority. We have a crisis and division also in our country and Middle East while he vacations in Alaska.

Who cares about the name of a mountain.

We have hostile people who want to take out cops and white people which is being supported by the national Democratic Party.

He should be addressing the American people to bring unity and peace.
