  • Question particuarly addresed to my fellow sedes, although SSPX feel free to comment.

Is there such thing as  Novus Ordo Exorcist?

If Novus Ordo priests are not really priests since they were never ordained, is it still possible God gives them graces to remove evil spirits/demons?

If the answer is yes, is it possible using this logic, that God gives them graces to perform the sacraments even though they are in a heretical bogus ordo religion?

  • The real question is are there any successful SV exorcists, IMO.

Even dear old Bp. McKenna admits failure.  (there are a number of

It is by the Authority of Holy Mother Church that demons are expelled.

The issue of Confessions and the Rite of Exorcism are main causes of my  problems with the sede vacante theory.  I am not qualified to sort it out.

  • I answer no based on Matthew 12:

But the Pharisees hearing it, said: This man casteth not out the devils but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. [25] And Jesus knowing their thoughts, said to them: Every kingdom divided against itself shall be made desolate: and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.

[26] And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself: how then shall his kingdom stand? [27] And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. [28] But if I by the Spirit of God cast out devils, then is the kingdom of God come upon you. [29] Or how can any one enter into the house of the strong, and rifle his goods, unless he first bind the strong? and then he will rifle his house. [30] He that is not with me, is against me: and he that gathereth not with me, scattereth.

  • At a dinner party, maybe 8 months ago, someone asked the good Priest there about exorcism. One of the questions that eventually came up was this one.

He answered that the Novus Ordo have a new rite of exorcism and that he had heard that the SSPX had sent an observer to see the new rite of exorcism and came back reporting that it was bunk and bs.

  • The new exorcism rite was roundly condemned by the NO bishops and priests so it never made it out of the original Latin text and was never published. They have gone back to the drawing board. As far as I know, anyone doing exorcisms in NO dioceses is using the older form.
