  • "This scandal will prove to be a crisis on the scale of the Protestant Reformation, which began just over 500 years ago — an earthquake of 9.5 on the Richter scale."

You believe they're being disingenuous? For what purpose? I'm truly curious.

They're gleeful at the thought of a mass apostasy of Catholics in favour of their Protestant heresies. They're only "concerned" about the Church so they can continue to smear Catholicism and spread their antichrist Pope lies.

Thanks. I see where you're coming from, and it certainly would be plausible (given that the Church is immersed in such scandals), that Protestants who aren't so ecumenical, will take advantage of this crisis in order to gain for their "side". (But surely they don't think we're ignorant that this isn't also going on in their sects?)

However, I just didn't get that sense from these two authors, who genuinely seemed to have a stake in the matter, most notably in their arguments for religious liberties becoming even more under attack, due to the government needing to intervene in the "American Catholic Church". I believe it will only create a domino effect, and that's why they're concerned, if not outright alarmed.

My thought is that an apostasy and schism actually has happened and has been going on for years, it just hasn't been formalized or publicized as such in the quasi-religious or secular press. Isn't the NO basically that, a purveyor of modernism and protestant heresies? Many liberal NO members I have known have been waiting for Francischurch for years. They bristled at being at odds with the world. they LOVE false ecumenism. Even with the sex abuse crisis staring at them, they can discount it as "pedophilia" only and leave the predator homosexuals happily and openly in place. The NO modernists have no problem giving up the little " sensum catholicum" that has yet to be abandoned or destroyed. Let's face it. There are two (unofficial) Churches already and probably most "catholics" can be filed under modernists. The future attacks will be against us, traditionalists, by them the NO.( along with the other protestants) The crisis of "faith" is truly just among the neo-conservatives hanging on for dear life to Conciliar Rome.

  • Protestantism is the reason for the crisis because they helped create Vatican II.

  • Protestants also have this sex scandal, but their members and congregations are not usually rich, so there is no deep money for attorneys to grab. Thus it only makes the local news. Pastors and church members can secretly pay off those they have abused, and then go to another church and abuse those members. So, yes, there is no accountability.
    Lord have mercy.

  • Protestantism is the reason for the crisis because they helped create Vatican II.
    .
The most heretical effect of Vat.II was the unclean spirit of Vat.II interpretation that there is salvation outside the Church.
The single most contributing quote leading to that false proposition is found in LG 8, where it says,
    .
"The Church of Christ... subsists in the Catholic Church."
    .
That was suggested by a Protestant observer at Vat.II, the suggestion being passed up to the authors of the documents.
    .
Protestants had other contributions to make as well.
    .
When the demonic council had ended, 6 Protestant ministers were enjoined by Paul VI to fabricate the Novus Ordo fake liturgy.

Rank and file Protestants have an abiding desire to have everything okay in the Catholic Church and it is highly upsetting to them to hear that there are problems in the Catholic Church or that everything isn't okay in the Vatican. This has been the case all along. The regular Joes among Protestants take a lot of comfort in believing that the Catholic Church will always be there, a formidable edifice that marks history's landscape with its unavoidable presence. It is nothing short of terrifying to them to imagine a world without the Catholic Church.

  • Yes, Protestant sects are rife with Youth Abuse. There is a whole website dedicated to the phenomenon.

I was thinking this as well. And just like the Indult needs the SSPX to be the ugly, fat kid "anchor man" in the Tug-of-War with the Modern World, so also the Prots are screwed if something ever happens to the Catholic Church. They get to have their more-or-less ordered "Christian society" because it's a degraded hand-me-down from real Catholicism. If it weren't for the Catholicism in the first place, the watered-down, degraded hand-me-down version wouldn't exist.

The Catholic Church had been an unmoving rock, a strong foundation for morality for centuries. Just look at what has happened to the world since the Catholic Church starting losing it in the 1960's! We've lost our moral compass, lost our bearings, and are sinking rapidly into collapse and anarchy.

Seriously, no joke, we don't have much time left. Just look at the collapse JUST IN THE LAST 5 or 10 years (SJWs, the "gender spectrum", an expansion of the pro-perversion movement currently up to LGBTQIA+, Trump Derangement Syndrome, the mainstream media coming out of the closet as open leftists, trigger warnings, free speech zones, fascism perpetrated by "antifa", leftist riots, George Soros, etc.)

I can verify this having come through Protestant-land on the way to the true Church.  The protties have lots of sickos, but since they're not so well organized and poor, nobody cares.  They reshuffle the deck and go on same as the bishops transfer the pervert priests.
