I red somewhere that after V2 the spirituality of consecrated virginity has changed.as we know the chuch is the bride of Christ but it is a metaphore because a man cannot literary  be spouse of Jesus,and a married woman would be a bigamist
if she were literary a spouse of Jesus too.
but given the fact that in past centuries the chuch punished a fallen nun like an adulteress it seems that a nun's marrige to Jesus is not a mere metaphore,why should any body be punished for sining against a mataphore?note that a fallen nun was punished more severly than a fallen lay unmarried woman and if any body raped a nun he was more guilty than one who raped any other woman.it was said that such a man has violated Jesus' spouse.
But after V2 it we are told that a consecrated woman's marriage with Jesus is like that of the whole chuch it is just more intense!!!
