poche, we do not allow those in open, unrepentant sin to "enter the Church" in the hope that they will feel good.  Anyone who knowingly extends the grace of the Sacraments to such a person condemns both their souls to Hell.  Does a hospital keep a person who prefers to remain sick with a contagious disease to treatment?  No, the patient either accepts treatment or must leave.  If a man announces he is a pedophile, do I welcome him to live in my home with my children?  I hope I DO scare him away!  You are in need of a reality check.

We do invite those in open unrepentant sin to repent. But how to do that and be effective? If we chase them away then they may never repent and they may very well go to Hell. Many times the sinner may come into the Church by a special grace from God. Then we have the opportunity to lead them away from the evil that makes them slaves to the Devil. Jesus said tha tHeaven rejoices more over one repentant sinner than over a hudred rightous who have no need of repentance.

I see nowhere where Francis has even suggested that gαy folks need to repent.

The problem with that is, Our Lord never said that.  That's a protestant error.

Thank you, 2Vermont, because now I realize that I haven't seen him suggesting that ANYONE needs to repent.

Where has Francis invited anyone to repent, let alone "those in open unrepentant sin?"

Where has Francis asked "how to do that (invite anyone to repent) and be effective?"

Where has Francis said anything about leading anyone "away from evil that makes them slaves to the devil?"  Has he ever uttered the words "makes them slaves to the devil?"  I highly doubt it.  That's not his style.

When has Francis mentioned anything about Our Lord saying "that Heaven rejoices more over one repentant sinner than over a hundred righteous who have no need of repentance?"  ― maybe it has something to do with the fact that Our Lord never said that!!

When did Our Lord say there is anyone who has no need of repentance?

The problem is poche is reading the KJV bible, so he's likely protestant.

"I say to you, that even so there shall be joy in heaven upon one sinner that doth penance, more than upon ninety-nine just who need not penance" (Lk. xv. 7 DRV).

Protestants don't think ANYONE needs to do penance.  There's the problem.
As for not needing penance, St. Mary Magdalene apparently didn't think that applies to her.  She spent the second half of her life doing extreme penance, whether or not she needed to do any.

The Church teaches that "no need for repentance" could apply to Our Lord and Our Lady, but they're the exceptions ― there the Liberal goes again, making the exceptions into the rule!
