  • For purpose of this thread, please no debate.

I am discerning a vocation to the religious life, and would like to apply to enter MHFM once I am of age. A few questions:

Does MHFM even accept men into their monastery?

I was raised in the New Church, and so with the exception of my baptism, all the other sacraments have been invalid. What do I do?

How do the brothers at MHFM operate, since I thought that you needed to take your vows before a priest or something?

Do they have Holy Mass at the monastery?

  • I wouldn't think about that now.  Work on prayer.

    I am.

Its only a few more years (3 to be exact) before I graduate from high school though, so I'm just wondering. I know for sure that I really do not want to go to college, but I may just have to...

  • Thank you SpouseofJesus, I do not think that my parents are hindering my vocation (if I have one) though. I might have to go to college (note the "have to" part), and they won't be thrilled that it is a sede-vacantist monastery, but I think they will come to terms with it.

Does anyone know how many brothers actually live at MHFM?

  • May I ask why you are considering a sedevacantist monastery, as opposed to one of the monasteries associated with the SSPX?

Also, are you actually posting from the Islamic Republic of Iran? That's what is indicated in your profile. Not sure if the Dimond Brothers have a monastery there.

Hope you can be persuaded to reconsider the sedevacantist thing.
Exile in Novus Ordo land ... please pray for me!

  • You mentioned that you are still in high school - have you contemplated going to a minor seminary as part of your highschool years to find out whether or not you would have a vocation?  As to your questions, maybe you should try writing one of the priests and find out.

It's a bug, if you post after Miss SOJ, you get her flag.

I've got to test this out and see if it looks like I'm posting from Iran.
