  • In 1970, Reverend Philip Berrigan, founder of the Catholic Peace Fellowship anti-Vietnam War organization, conspired with other priests and a nun to stage a dramatic publicity stunt of kidnapping Presidental Advisor Kissinger and depriving federal buildings of heat in the dead of winter. Philip was indicted on antiwar conspiracy charges along with Maryknoll Sister Elizabeth McAllister, and three other priests (Joseph Wenderoth, Neil McLaughlin, Anthony Scoblick, a former priest) and Eqbal Ahmad, a fellow of the Adlai Stevenson Institute of Public Affairs. In the subsequent trial, the six avoided conviction on the more serious charges of conspiracy to kidnap and bomb federal buildings; Berrigan and McAllister were convicted of smuggling mail out of a federal penitentiary.

  • I dont understand how from the standpoint of just observing what a withdrawl of grace there's been that the Vatican could persist with this council.  This council has caused more suffering than 20 mohadden armies or 10 neros just from the withdrawl of grace and understanding and subsequent sin that's emerged from it.
