    I don't believe they have even given it that much thought. There is a certain kind of person that loves crowds, loves to disappear into the mass of humanity. I could never understand it. I dated a girl like that once. If there was a street festival she felt compelled to go to it. It didn't matter if it was a hassle to find parking, if the vendors overcharged for mediocre food, if you were jostled by rude, loud drunk people, if it was boiling hot and humid. No matter what indignities one might have to brave she derived some satisfaction from the experience. Simply put it's the herd mentality and I think they are hardwired that way. Cows find security in grazing with other cows.

    Despite the ongoing commentary/reports that the black smoke must mean that there is fighting/division between the "conservative" and the "liberal" factions (and therefore a "good sign"), I actually think it's division between liberal groups.  IOW, I don't mean that the conservative (like a Sarah) is truly another liberal, I mean that it is much more likely that there is division over two very obvious liberals.

    I agree Pizzaballa and I'm predicting the papal name Pius XIII.
