Or, "Globohomo is Sauron's One Ring".
It has an allure and an evil that can't be compared to anything else.
Everyone is tempted by, or affected by it. You have to make a decisive act of will to reject it.
If you put on the One Ring, you become invisible for a time, and find gain at least in the short term -- but it corrupts you with every use. Like sin, more or less.
The Ring has been compared to sin before. I'm comparing it here to "being on good terms with globohomo".
Because it's the same with the New Religion: every time you spout Political Correctness, go along to get along, compromise, or go along with the New Religion, you are invisible to criticism, inconvenience, and moral pain of any kind. It becomes addictive. Pretty soon, you can't even CONSIDER not using the ring to become invisible when a threat arises (of criticism, inconvenience, suffering, loss, etc.)
The One Ring is basically compromise, acquiescence to the New Religion, being politically correct. It's very tempting, addictive, and good men must avoid it at all costs. Repeated capitulation to it = becoming a slave to it, slowly but surely.
And once you've BEGUN to be corrupted by it, the first thing to go is your clearness of thought. Your thinking process ceases to be objective and clear almost immediately. That's the worst part.
(By the way, this One Ring analogy is totally separate from my other One Ring analogy, where the One Ring is a full 100% solution to the Crisis in the Church, that causes ALL to either submit to it, or officially go into Bad Will territory)
I've been listening to some Men of the West Tolkien videos lately, OK?
