  • One fine day perhaps, Michael Voris, having already taken so many steps in the right direction, will take the last few critical steps and finally pronounce on the Apostasy of Rome and the Conciliar Church. So often he has the situation teed up for a perfect grand slam, and then he'll say something stupid like "Anyone who thinks Pope Francis isn't bringing the lumber to the liberal bishops is a lunatic and needs to be committed."  Does he really believe that Francis (and Benedict and John Paul before him) are laboring mightily behind the scenes to reverse all this destruction, or is he simply encountering one of the many psychological roadblocks that exist along the path out of conciliarism?

I'm sure it's the latter, and I have pity on him. When I look back on my own path to where I am today, I certainly don't see a glorious linear ascent toward the truth. In about seven years I have gone from:

    1. Nothing, no formal religion
    2. Looking for truth and being a philosophical virtuous pagan
    3. Wanting to be Catholic
    4. Converting through the Novus Ordo
    5. Parish hopping
    6. Settling into a more conservative Novus Ordo parish
    7. Attending the once-a-month Novus Ordo Mass in Latin
    8. Trying out an Ecclesia Dei Indult Mass
    9. Unsure, staying home, confusion, praying the Rosary and making spiritual communions
    10. Attaching myself to the FSSP
    11. More frustration, more despair, more nothing
    12. Finally to the CMRI

There is in my Catholic life none of that stable career trajectory that HR representatives look for on a resume. At each point along the way I would have tried to defend what I was doing. It was hard enough for me to take these steps, but Michael Voris is much more in the public eye and has

  • ...edit...

a lot more riding on each decision. His "fall," when it comes, will be great indeed, and many will scoff over him; but there will also be some who, God willing, will follow him out of the VII mess.

The depopulation of the Church which Michael talks about is happening alongside a more general depopulation of the human race. The demographic winter is upon us. The population of Japan continues to decline, for instance. Japan will never recover from the twin disasters of Fukushima and demographic winter. They are only the canary in the coal mine. Soon Europe and Russia will follow suit, then China and America. This will be an age of civic unrest, poverty, resource wars, despotic governments, and renormalized barbarism. This is the context in which we will have to labor to restore the Church. I am in my early thirties as I write this; the turbulent decades to come will comprise the rest of my natural life. Pray for me, pray for us, that we will keep our salvation in these times.

  • He frustrates me.

I apologize if not an exact quote:  "if someone ordained/consecrated preaches error then they must be called out".

So when is he going to call out Francis?

As far as I'm concerned, until then, he's just blowing smoke.
For there shall arise false Christs and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch as to deceive (if possible) even the elect. (Matthew 24:24)

  • If Mr. Voris has good intentions, he'll eventually have to admit the obvious regarding Francis. Maybe he's just afraid to take that logical step, which is understandable if not defensible. I will say, however, that the longer he stays in denial and doesn't take that step, the more it appears to me that his ultimate quest is financial stability, not the truth.
"This principle is most certain: The non-Christian cannot in any way be Pope. The reason for this is that he cannot be head of what he is not a member. Now, he who is not a Christian is not a member of the Church, and a manifest heretic is not a Christian, as is clearly taught by St. Cyprian, St. Athanasius, St. Augustine, St. Jerome, and others. Therefore, the manifest heretic cannot be Pope." -- St. Robert Bellarmine

He's done far more than anyone else I can think of to publicly speak out about the church in crisis. He already on the outs with many dioceses.

I'm going to be supportive unless there's something completely out of line.

When he did call out the Catholic organizations a few months ago with their high incomes and such he did disclose he makes just $40k.
