Hey guys. I have discovered recently this Catholic called Michael Voris. He seems to have done a lot of good videos related to the faith.I am wondering what is your opinion of him ?Thank you._____________Santiago
His recent video, "Attacking the Pope" was a good one. Some of his critics in general think him "soft" on the Pope, but in my opinion Michael Voris appreciates the need for Catholics to have special reverence for the Vicar of Christ.
March 19, 2013 . 8:36 AMOne problem with the modern world is that we have by and large lost any healthy grasp of the nature of authority & hierarchy. Many Catholics have undergone an unfortunate Protestantization, insofar as they only respect authority they find in texts -- whether the Bible or encyclicals or catechism or a liturgical manual -- which they take it upon themselves to interpret. At the same time they exhibit virtually no respect whatsoever for the authority invested in apostolic offices. We're perfectly willing to be obedient to any pope ... provided he's been dead for a century or so, and/or he tells us what we have already ourselves judged to be correct. Every time a ship gets a new captain, every sailor should not be expected to sycophantically praise him to the skies -- especially if there are reservations about the new skipper's prudence & navigational skills. On the other hand, if you are a deckhand, neither is it your place to run about trumpeting to the world your personal contempt for the new skipper. If a Catholic hasn't at least a little hesitation about loudly denouncing the Pope, then I have to wonder how much of what he refers to as Catholic tradition, authority, and hierarchy is merely a construct of his own mind.
