  • Almost all the Irish Born Priests that I knew in my Life
Time, including the Priest that Baptized me in 1953
were formed at Maynooth Seminary in Ireland.
A very sad commentary on this Seminary since Vatican
    2.

  • Unless I'm mistaken, this is a quote from Fr. Z himself, it is in the early portion of the blog....

"On a cheerier note, it confirmed how much faster the seminarians in the USA have improved than in many other places!"

Now this is why even the "conservative" sounding Novus Ordo presbyters can't be trusted.   Just listen to the talk given by Mr. Michael Oswalt, a former Novus Ordo "priest" who left and I believe is now studying with the CMRI.  ...

  • I went to St. Patrick's College for one year while I was in college (1993 to 1994).  It is the co-ed liberal arts university on the same property as the seminary in Maynooth.  The co-ed university began in the 1960s.  Some of the female, American students on our program dated some of the seminarians.  That place was a joke then and has likely gotten notably worse.
