In the Raccolta there is an interesting prayer (# 401) to be said on the 8th of May in honor of the "Virgin Ruler of Paradise, Queen of the Holy Rosary of Pompeii." The history of this devotion is interesting because it refers to the conversion of the former satanist, Blessed Bartolo Longo. May 8 this year is interesting for a couple of reasons. This year is the 1,500th anniversary of the apparition of St. Michael the Archangel in the year 525. There are connections between Our Lady of Pompeii and St. Michael. May 8 this year also coincides with the papal conclave, as I have seen reports that the conclave is to begin on the 6th of May, possibly the 5th.
There is a place in the prayer which reads, "No, we will not rise from before thy feet this day until thou bless us. At this very moment, O Mary, bless the Supreme Pontiff. To the former laurels of thy chaplet, to the ancient triumphs of the Rosary, whence thou art called the Queen of Victories, add this favor also, O Mother: give victory to the cause of religion and peace to human society."
It is interesting that many will pray this prayer either during the Conclave or perhaps thereafter. Perhaps nothing will happen, and it will be another dose of modernism, but I find it nonetheless interesting.
