Matthew Kelly is a popular, sticky-sweet, novus ordo layman-evangelist. He has written several best selling books about Catholicism that are essentially very, very long fortune cookies. I know that he has written favorably about Msgr. Josemaria Escriva and the spirituality of Opus Dei, but I'm not sure if he's a member.
Kelly's books have a pretty wide dissemination in the NO because his publisher annually makes parishes a tremendous deal on bulk purchases if the church promises to give the books away for free at their Christmas Masses.
