A poster who shall remain nameless has introduced a thread where a baseless accusation has been leveled at Sedevacantists.   Rather than continue to perpetuate that thread thereby giving it some semblance of credibility that on its merits it has not earned , let us instead explore the actual charge of Schism.

A schism occurs when a group or groups usurp lawful authority held by lawful Ecclesiastic authorities.  St Paul condemned Schismatic actions in Scripture and Holy Mother the Church has defined over the centuries the evils of Schism.

One of the Four Marks of the church has been defined as UNITY.  UNITY is under direct attack by Schism.

So the real question is how is this UNITY endangered by schism?  

Prior to Vatican II the Church enjoyed Unity in Our Age.  The disasterous effects of Vatican II has led to disunity.  Even Novus Ordo Cardinal Kaspar recently admitted that the Docuмents of Vatican II were purposely ambiguous.  

How then are groups like Sedevacantists and SSPX to be blamed or accused of being in schism when the underlying cause for disunity was purposely instigated by modernist heretics.

Our Lord was accused of casting out Demons by the power of Beezlebub to which he responded "By whom do your Fathers cast them out."  If the Kingdom of GOD has come  - GOD is served in truth.  Therefore who ever divides is doing the work of Satan.  A house divided cannot stand.  If then , Heretics make a charge of disunity based on the insistance that catholics accept and adopt that Heresy - is a false unity.

The Church is made up of the Church Triumphant , The  Church Suffering and the Church Militant.    UNITY as a mark of the Church does not apply solely to the Church Militant but to the Church as a whole.

UNITY must exist and traditionalists understand that Unity with the Church  Triumphant is more important than UNITY with  heretics for the sake of decorum.
